Welcome To The KIVA School
Apart from home, the single most important place in a child’s life is school.
Their first school experience plays a vital role in their academic and social development going forward. The Kiva School came into being with the collective dream to build a space that not only provides a strong academic foundation, but also cultivates holistic growth – socially, emotionally, physically and more. We also hoped to create an environment in which the children feel so safe and comfortable that they love coming to school!
Veritas Learning Circle (VLC) and The AMI School joined hands to bring this dream into reality. In Finnish, Kiva means someone who is nice and kind to others which we felt was the perfect name, as it aligns with our philosophy inspired by the Finnish education system and highlights the qualities we wish to instill in our children and the experience we hope to provide for our kids.

Our school offers a vibrant and immersive learning experience that integrates the magic of stories, the beauty of nature, the freedom of art, and the joy of play. This unique approach is not just a curriculum but a journey that guides each child through their early years with creativity, curiosity, and a profound connection to the world. We believe children learn best when their interests are at the center of their education. Through storytelling, we spark imagination and language skills, while our daily engagement with nature fosters environmental awareness and a sense of wonder. Art provides endless opportunities for self-expression, from painting to music, and sensory activities and pretend play offer rich avenues for emotional and cognitive growth. Our emergent curriculum is dynamic and responsive, adapting to the evolving needs of the children and ensuring that each child’s developmental milestones are met in a nurturing environment. This holistic approach not only aligns with EYFS learning outcomes but also prepares children for life by instilling a love of learning and a deep respect for the world around them.

The love of books is one of the first things we hope to instill in young children. The joy, the wonder, the magic that they can find between the pages of a book is an experience we want them to have again and again. Story-telling is a great teaching tool as well, and we use stories to not only enforce concepts like colours, shapes, and numbers but also to make things like “big” feelings more relatable for the little ones.Nature

It is innately built in us as humans to connect to nature and find peace. Building that bond with our natural world, relating classroom concepts to the great outdoors, and also creating the awareness that taking care of our environment is an important responsibility is something that we believe strongly in at The Kiva School.ART
