Meet the Directors
Nasira Faiz
Nasira heads the Nursery section of The AMI School and AMI Daycare and Learning Centre as one of the partners/owners of Education Works Pvt Ltd.
With an educational background in Psychology, she began her professional career as a Montessori trained teacher and has been working in education since 1985. She joined the management team at The AMI School as a partner after a few years of working as a preschool teacher.
Nasira is on the board of directors at Karachi Down Syndrome Program and has been associated with it since its inception. An avid believer of inclusive education, she worked extensively on research involving the role of occupational therapy in Inclusive education in Pakistan with Brunel University, UK, DOW University of Heath sciences, Pakistan and The AMI School.
A strong believer of outdoor learning in pre-schools, she has had training of the forest school from the UK and is inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach in early childhood education. At present, she is working to create a model outdoor learning space at the women’s section in central prison, Karachi for the incarcerated children in jail with their mothers. She co-founded the Seniors’ Involvement Program in 2018 with the aim of encouraging those over fifty years of age to practice active aging! She is passionate about travelling and is a partner and vice president of TravelinPk, a company recently established to promote responsible tourism in Pakistan.
